I Just Now saw that Steve is gone & it knocked the wind right out of me .... A small group of us hung out together almost everyday just doing the craziest things . So much fun ! The one thing I'll Never forget is the night my friend Sues Father drove us to see my Very First concert ( not sure if it was Steve & Sues first or not ?) Well we had some terrible warm Gin in baby food jars. & thought we'd be big shots & drink at the concert ( it was Gross). Well Steve had more than us girls cause Sue & I couldn't stand the taste . But Steve definitely was drunk & he was in back seat with me in Sues Dads Nice Clean car on the way back to Sues after the concert " which by the way was A Sha-na-na concert " ha ha . Anyhow long story short Steve got sick & all of a sudden He was covered with his supper & So was I from trying to get him to bend forward & do it on the floor ! Her Dad was very quiet till we got to Sues & said This will be cleaned tomorrow ! So Sue. & I helped Steve up stairs & got him & I cleaned up & changed . That's when I noticed the Mushrooms all over & Sue said What Did you EAT Steve ?! Lol
He looked at us with the cutest goofy grin & said
" I Had Pizza Mushroom Pizza for supper ". And he laughed a silly kind of giggle & plopped his head back down again to sleep .... From that night on His nic name for me Was Mushroom Mama. Lol. Cause I had to clean it off of him & me !! Yuck !! Lol. Well that's what friends are for :-) right ?! :-P Sue Eaton, Steve, & Beth Borneton (not sure of her spelling) . But they Made a Surprise party for me in Sues Back yard for my 18th Birthday & they made a Big Chocolate Cake that Steve made sure it said in icing
" HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUSHROOM MAMA ". I of course cried Happy tears .... Sue & I became friends when I was in 2nd grade & she in 1st. & 50 yrs later we can still chat up a storm like nothings changed .. Steve was a Great friend to all us girls growing up , always smiling & joking around .... I don't know how he died But it sure makes me sad Because this World needs all the Happy go lucky jokesters we can get .. I'm So sorry take Steve is gone .... My Very Belated Sympathy To his Parents & Family & Friends .... Steve Always Danced to His Own Style of Tunes & He Was Full of Spirt & always Up for one of Our Crazy Adventures ..
Thanks for letting me share some memories with you all .... no disrespect intended at all in my ending here
I Know Steve would be laughing at my see you later

Who cold forget dearest Spook. He was so funny and so full of life. It is so sad that he is gone. When he died, I wrote a Star Tribune Obituary guestbook note and called him "Spook" in my note, for that was his nickname. The Star Tribune would not post it. LOL. Pat and I were best friends through elementary school (Pillsbury) and Northeast Junior High as well. I will give him credit for pushing me to play hockey (still do) and to start my silkscreen career with my first job at shop on Central Ave. I still think about some of the crazy stuff we did and the boyhood memories that I'll never forget. The movie" Sandlot" could have been filmed about us. So very sad to hear this news. My heartfelt condolences go to his family and friends. Another Nordeaster gone too soon.
